It is common knowledge that every country has its own culture and ways of doing things. However, when traveling or studying abroad, you might not be aware of those cultural differences. Hence, this is why we have decided to create the Cultural Chatbot!
This bot will allow you to ask any question on a cultural situation that you don’t know how to manage and to help you understand the way people are acting. The idea behind this bot is to reassure people so that they can live the best cultural experience as possible. We are mainly aiming for students as we would like to encourage them to have an experience abroad.
The service is dedicated mainly to students going abroad.
The way this bot will work is the following:
The person will have to set the bot to the country of origin and to the hosting. The person will then ask a question, with AI and algorithms, the bot will find the key words and give the best answer possible to the person. Because the bot will be set according to the country of origin, it will give the most relevant answer, highlighting the widest cultural gaps.
In the case of the bot not being able to answer the question or not giving a pertinent answer, the person will have to opportunity to click on a link to get through to a forum where people from the same country of origin and in visiting/studying in the same country could answer them. In the potential but unlikely (except at the beginning) case where there wouldn’t be anyone on the channel, the person will be able to get rid of “filters”. For example, he/she will be able to only ask people of the “hosting” country. Additionally, we are willing to add an extra feature that will allow us to give the best deals of our partners to our users (Bars, restaurants, theatre…). This way they will be able to discover the fun things to do in the hosting town or country and meet foreign people as well (also using our bot).

And instead of having students do extensive research on shortlisted schools, the quiz would generate the rankings to save students time and possible redundant effort on information that might nevertheless not be compatible with them at all. Lack of recognition and brand awareness Lack of databases regarding countries information Company members lack skills in terms of developing apps
Opportunities:
Possible partnerships with great school orientation companies (l’Etudiant) and business schools and universities: ex: Em Lyon, Paris Assas,... It exists only simple quizzes that take into account only a few information regarding the student’s profile: we can provide one more developed that takes into account more variables
